Capture the Computer Screen

Ever wondered how to take a picture of your computer screen? Windows and OS X ( Mac ) both have built in features for this. The following video covers the basics of taking a screen shot.

Windows 7:

Windows 7 has a built in tool called "Snipping Tool" that allows you to select a part of screen to capture and save. You can find this tool by going Start on windows and searching "snipping tool."

Other Windows:

On most Windows keyboards, there is a button with the text "Print Screen" or "PrtScn" or something along those lines. If you press these buttons, then open up an application such as Paint. You are able to paste the screen that was up when you pressed the Print Screen button. You can paste the image into an application by either finding the paste button or by holding "Ctrl" then pressing "V" ( Ctrl + V ).

Macs:

If you wish the the entire screen on a Mac. Hold Command and shift and then press 3 ( Command + Shift + 3 ). This will capture the entire screen and place it on your desktop

If you want to take a picture of only part the screen then you can just hold Command and Shift and then press 4 ( Command + Shift + 4 )
